Memphis. Tn area: looking for local or regional company that treats drivers well

    My Fiancee is looking to make a move from a OTR company who treats drivers and equipment like disposable cups, to put it nicely. I have spent hours upon hours reading, researching, googling and I find myself going in circles. He has 2 years with this company almost 2.5 total OTR. We are hoping to find a company where he can be home more without a serious pay cut (shouldn't be to hard since the clowns he works for now are not paying competitive cpm anyway). Most of his time with this company was dry van, early last Sept he switched over to flatbed. He is not totally opposed to more OTR, provided they can get him home on the weekends for more than 34hrs and if the yard is closer than the 74 miles he drives now. He is looking to stay in the ballpark of $1000 a week, if possible. Thanks for your help!

    Bertis Carlson Trucking, Galesburg IL. hire drivers in that area to run out of Jackson Tn. Take truck home with you, flatbed/stepdeck, home most weekends. They have an ad on Jackson Tn craigslist now actually

    There's a whole lot of tanker work out of Memphis (chemical, food grade, and fuel.) Most of that kind of work will pay better AND get him home more often. But he needs to have a clean record, both background and driving, as well as a stable work history if he wants to do chemical or fuel hauling.

    most of the tanker companies run out of there.
