eventually this is gonna be mandatory for all companies eventually. Its a better way they can fnd drugs in your system. I was told when I did this they can go back approx 6 months on a strand of hair and they can test for anything. Its not bad if you have been clean, But if you havent why would you try out for a job with a company this size. I got a friend hired out of KC a year ago and he just loves the job. He makes good money and He works monday through friday almost every week. They will keep you as busy as you want to be, If you do the runs you will always have one on the other side.

 

talked with ops manager and the way he talked i would run from 80 and north. sounds like alot of cedar rapids and Wisconsin and Chicago and points in between is this area good running or not

 

To me it sounds like good runs except Chicago.JB has a terminal right in the heartland of Chicgo.Bad side of town.

Hmm, makes me wonder,,,I'm going to orientation Mon...2nd thoughts??? If you're sitting what do you do? I'm oilfield so I'm used to sitting. Do their trucks have 110 capabilities so I can use my laptop and refridge?

 

I've been working oil fields last 6 mos (Watford area) and was offered JBH Intermodal out of Chicago and Crete otr. I've finally decided to go with Crete. CPM was a bit higher and insurance bennies are a bit better with Crete. Plus every run won't be either in or out of Chicago. I suspect the miles may be better at Crete.

 

JB has one of the top benefit programs in the industry. But if you did your research and figured crete is better well congrats.

 

It's good to find a thread with a couple positive opinions on JB. I haven't decided, but I'm thinking about giving them a try. They have openings on a dedicated account near my house. I'd never go OTR with a large carrier again but this seems like a good deal (other than Chicago). Daily round trips from Michigan to Chicago and back. If I make it back, I can go home for my break. Same start time every day and same 2 days off every week. Depending on which of the 4 possible start times I get, it sounds pretty appealing.

 

if your a hard worker you can make great money.. the company is real stable too.

 

Supposed to start with jb hunt in 2 weeks. Need some accurate info on benefits 401k northeast regional trucks invertors pay. Been off road for about year with a highway dept job so need as much accurate info as possible.
