If you still have any questions about Interstate, I'll answer to the best of my ability. I've been driving with them as a team almost 2 years now.

Since I'm in a team, we run all over. Although we don't get up into the northeast too much. And it really depends on what load board you're on. They have East fleet, Midwest fleet, Kansas City regional, Western regional and team. There might be another one or two fleets but you get the idea. If you're assigned to one region though, it doesn't mean they might not send you into another area to get a load. If you're solo, then you'll probably run in the area closest to where you live.

Currently there are 1700+ drivers. More if you add O/O.

Only been here 6 weeks and I've yet to get out of the Western region thought I told my dispatcher I was more than willing to go anywhere, including Canada. No real complaints so far. :biggrin_25519:

You have to have at least one year driving experience to join Interstate.

I just recently resigned from them after 2 months. I ran out of Lebanon, TN. as mid west regional driver. Office personnel were freindly. Unfortunately, Operations had their head up their ###. The FM I was assigned wasn't very good. Trying to get a response from him on the driver tech or on the phone was like pulling teeth. They lacked communication between shifts. The weekend crew was the worst. I'm sure they have good FMs, but I jumped at an opportunity to drive local for another company before I could find out. If Istayed, I would of asked for a different FM. Also, when they tell you mid-west regional, New Jersey is part of that lane. All the truck will eventually be KWs or Cascadias. So, if you assigned a raggedy truck, just wait a few weeks. You'll get assigned a new one. I lucked out and got a brand new T680 right after orientation because the Columbia I was assigned, was in the shop. Interstate has assigned routes to take and they tell you where you need to fuel. I pretty much fueled where I wanted, so long as its a pilot, flying j, or ta, they won't say anything. If you can deal with some goofball dispatchers, then Interstate is a pretty decent company to work for. They also got me home on weekends when I asked for it. I would work for them again, but I like being home daily. Good luck driver.

I have been with Interstate Distributors Co. (IDC) for 7 months, have been home 4 times since 11/2012.Due to equipment breakdowns,
I have spent more days in motel rooms than at home. There is now breakdown and layover pay, a plus. When moving, average miles per week 2000-2400, with three weeks over 3000. Just my personal experience. Most of the time they work with you, better than some, not the best place I have worked, and they went out of business, or dissolved.

For a mega carrier, it seems they are not bad... Most of the opinions I have read here so far seemed to be positive... except the 63 mph... :biggrin_2552: Their DOT safety score is not too bad, except the HOS... 53.9%... a little above what I would like... Maybe they will be soon adopting elogs... This is the link to FMCSA... http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/SMS/Data/carrier.aspx?enc=GZyDeh/gr+Q=
