Had new turbo installed in my intl coe. thought the price of $ 250.00 was kind of high. labor only. took old one off, put new one on. is this price about right? wish I would of tried to do it myself, just had lots of others things to do around the house, so dropped truck off to have this done.

Petro replaced mine. Had to torch out the exhaust bolts.
Took them about 1.5-2hrs or about $185 or so, plus the screw-u shop charges for rags and torch gas etc..
I don't think your price is all that unreasonable but unless you know the work they had to do..was it 1-2-3 or more challenging like in my case.

Now, if mine was to be replaced TODAY, it would take less than 45mins from start to finish, including dismantling the piping to get at it.

Well I know the owner of the shop well. done busines with them ever since I have been in trucking. though this time the owner was not there & I paid what the shop man told me. going to see the owner tues or wed & ask the owner if the change out gave them problems. I have run into this before at other shop, where the ole guy owner who knows me would treat me very fair & keep me going to him, no matter how close I was to another truck shop, then 1 of his kid's or other would try & make a week's pay off one repair. a lot of the younger folks in busines do not understand customer loyalty. how to get it & how to keep it.

Most of the time it can be done within an hour, especially if you have all the parts. But if you have one stubborn nut all bets are off.
