In most multi load contracts there is an allowable adjustment for DISASTERS / DELAYS and a bridge collapse is 1 of them , on 1 load jobs off a loadboard your out of luck.

Mullen is no cheap outfit running off load board scraps. I'm sure they charged and were being paid adequately for any and all costs.

You would think so since they run down here....You don't run out of country unless all of your T's are crossed and your I's are dotted.......

There is not a "safe bridge" in this country. Use your internet and find out. I dare you. I know how to swim, so does my dog.

    What about a parachute?

Some of those "Safe Bridges" are little high to safely eject.....

I know " Mullen is no cheap outfit running off load board scraps" , and you can be assured this was not their 1st load through that area.

No I would not think so , they have DEEP pockets and are well insured whatever the outcome of this incident , but the OIL field transport sector has taken a hit in Canada this year and likely 1 reason that rig is being moved into the USA.

If you go to google street view to check out the bridge, there is at least one trailer there and there appears to be plenty of clearance. But the fact that another truck driver did not wait to pass the OS until after crossing the bridge is unconscionable.
But as for the bridge itself: IMHO, there's no way this bridge should collapse so easily. It's been bumped many times before and I'll bet this was the "straw" that finally did it. Yup, this one's gonna be in court for years...

I just saw vidio on news. (once) It APPEARED there was only ONE truck on bridge that hit, and 2nd truck was behind him. It didn't APPEAR from this angle there were two trucks side by side/even close. (I may be wrong/it was a camera few hundred yards OFF bridge. (maybe a shoping center?) If bridge under 15' WHY DON"T THEY HAVE a warning??? SAy a beam across road for trucks to hit a (couple) hundred yards before bridge.
