I joined this forum a while ago because I went to truck driving school, passed got my CDL-A my tanker and hazmat etc, and had wanted to get with a good company. I HAD to wait until the friend I was living with died. He died a horrible death from Prostate/bone, brain cancer and I was eventually left homeless. I thought I had a job as a truck driver at that time. A very nice company had allowed me to go to orientation, but on day 2 decided that I was not for them (quote "we didn't like the package") so I became homeless and had to find a way to quickly find food and shelter for myself and my family.
After a lot of anger at the system, I have decided that I need to go with a horrible looser company just to get the experience because truck driving is the only thing I can do that will pay any money (I have a college degree that won't give me jack squat).
So my spirit has been broken and I think I can apply to one of the company's everyone says are awful.
As long as I can get out in one year, I am okay.

You are the kind person they want..broke,starving,homeless lapdog...yea yea yea we all got bills to pay & families to feed....please go find a different line of work and stop bringing down our wages.because of your"situation"..and dont believe the stories you hear about trucking, because you will still be broke, starving & homeless after the first year too...
ShootThis, landstar8891 and sherlock510 Thank this. -
I don't understand what you are asking for? Advise?I think a different attitude might help you get what you want. That loser company will give you experience you need. A little gratitude goes a long way. Just saying!
ShootThis Thanks this. -
You already sound like you're defeated. With an attitude like that, I wouldn't expect much if anything positive to happen.
Carry on!ShootThis Thanks this. -
Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, and your situation. A year will fly by,ESPECIALLY if you're over 40 ....

While I am not homeless, and I am sorry about the loss of a friend, I also find myself in dire straits...maybe not as dire as you, but i do consider it dire. At this point, I gad to realize a job is a job is a job. Money coming in, a place to sleep and a skill to practice......good luck, find a job, any company will do from the sounds of it, and best of luck, keep us informed.

Hey thanks for telling me I am an idiot, I already know that. it is magical thinking to believe facts are not facts. Having a bad attitude will not get you a job any quicker than having a good attitude. I am not a lapdog bigdogpile , do you mean that anyone who succumbs to the dominance of the system is a lapdog/ Then maybe that is what you are? I don't know. Luckytruckerjen? What do you mean by Gratitude. I paid these folks to teach me skills to get a job and they did not get me a job. I think a lawsuit would be more appropriate than gratitude.
I totally hate the reactions that I get here. Sometimes I think that this forum does not do what it thinks it does -
I have a college degree and being separated from what I would would kill me. I only want a job to work for a year and then get as far away from it as I could.
