I usually do alot better...Landstar is very very WEAK lately...Not sure whats up...These loads i am on used to pay 3.00 leaving and 4.10 going back...:biggrin_25513:

I came out this week to IA and MO for .50 LESS and only found 2.90 going back to NY....Any ideas why rates are dropping..?

June 4th-6th...Tues, Weds, Thurs. 72 hrs, non-stop. I wouldn't be concerned with "dirty" officers finding non-existant problems with your truck. They're Govt workers, they get paid wether or not they find problems. They're not paid on commission. They are, however, very thorough and knowledgable. The moral of the story is, drive a legal truck, and you won't have any problem.

I'd have better luck giving you the winning lottery numbers.

It's been tough since April in Reefer too.

I was better off staying ''local''...Much better rates and more money.I wanted to stretch my legs a bit and get away.I have realized once again, the money is not in the long haul...:biggrin_25513:

I think i am done for another couple months doing the NY to Kansas City runs....I may do one last turn to Chicago and go back to the 400 mile radius....

My NYC runs got sliced in half by other O/O's...I was not to happy. My loads were paying $2000-$2500 for 330 miles into Queens...

They are on the boards now,for 2.50 a mile and O/O's are taking them in.....:biggrin_25523:

landstar has a load going into bronx. 1000 for 180 miles. today they've added 300 because load can't deliver till monday.

on another note. anyone know about brajkes and airbags. i had the truck in the shop 2 weeks ago when i was home. asked to have those things looked on the trailer. but the kenworth in salt lake are nothing but crooks. so the trailer never got looked at.

i've got one brake that sticks out of the drum about 2mm. and the airbag plates on the back axle are bent. someone before me hauling this trailer ran over a curb or something. one airbag at the very bottom base has a crack. that runs along the base about 2 inches. it's very hard rubber. you can't lift it up or anything. and the air bag doesn't leak. so i'm a little concerned about those 2 items.

we're required to do dot's quarterly. which was middle of april. but i've only had this trailer since end of may. so i don't know if this happened before or after it's last quarterly dot.

other then that i should be good to go. even have an abs light that actually works on the trailer. never had that out of 100's of trailers i've pulled before.

I got inspected in CA . Got put out of service for brake shoes on front right wheel. No truck stop nearby to get road service. Trooper told me no fine , but must fix it before I can leave. I looked at the shoes three times. They didn't look bad to me. I walked over to the trooper and asked for a second opinion. The other inspector comes over and checks it. He tells the trooper they are ok. They gave me a new insp report with oos removed. I was free to go .The next morning my front axle had new brakes, drums and wheel seals. I kinda suspect the first inspector meant the left side, but entered it wrong. Second insp looked at right side only. Whew! That was close. Never been treated bad during an inspection. And I've been through many . A few in CA.
