Bad choice to go with marten transportation

    why are these companies getting so tough on drivers..... its getting that way with all of them for the most part

    Because they can. If the economy every comes back these hard ### companies will have a hard time getting anyone to work for them that has gone through their abuse.

    WELL I CAN TELL YOU I WORKED FOR MARTEN AS A COMPANY DRIVER AND O/O FOR 8 YEARS AND THERE IS NOT A BETTER COMPANY OUT THERE IF YOU HAD MY EQUIPMENT I'D CHARGE YOU TOO AND MAYBE YOU SHOULD FILL OUT THE PROPER FORMS FOR REIMBURSEMENT.SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO BE WITH SWIFT OR WERNER IS WHERE YOU BELONG WITHOUT A DOUBT LEARN TO FOLLOW THE RULES THAT TRUCK IS THERE TO MAKE MONEY NOT COLLECT DUST :biggrin_2559::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25521::biggrin_2553::biggrin_25523::biggrin_25519::biggrin_25522::biggrin_2559:

    I bought the same beautiful picture as Hottruckerchic; at least her description reads as mine looks. The same lies.... I mean lines. And the same sickening hue of reality. Hows anyone supposed to protect themselves when beautiful green grass is nice to walk bare foot in; only for toes to discover puddles and piles!.?

    Nice thought, been out here almost 32 years, great economy's and bad, nothing has changed. The big trucking companies Swift, Werner, Schneider etc........ just a stepping stone, they have not changed a bit since I started in 1981. You are just a number and they try to keep as much of your money as they can. How is it that LTL companies manage to start their drivers at about 47 cpm. Topping out at 57 to 60cpm with paid holidays, sick or personal days and "usually" a great benefit package and your home every day or every other day, lay over pay starts after 14 hours of being in the hotel room the company pays for. Makes one wonder why these companies can usually barely top you out at 40cpm ? Why you have to fight for detention or lay over pay? They buy hundreds or thousands of trucks so they can have one sitting in every corner of the country when "that customer calls" and they don't care if you spend your weekend babysitting their equipment for free, costing you money to eat and shower . Until the drivers decide to force change on the industry I would not hold my breath waiting for changes, but they wont...I have 32 years of never seeing it happen and hearing the same complaints from the drivers. They all will tell you how they "respect" their drivers.....they respect nothing, "respect" would include 2 days off for every 5 days out to spend with your wife and children like the rest of the normal working world. I am not saying they are not nice to you, that they do not get you home when you want and I am not singling out any one company, I speak on the industry as a whole in the long haul trucking industry, things could be much better.
