I don't know what the problem is but I have been trying to tune my antenna. I have a cobra ltd 29 classic and the meter still shows no sign of improvement and the warning is still on. What could be wrong?

The kind of radio makes no difference as long as it works. What type vehicle is it mounted on? Where do you have it mounted on that vehicle? What type of mount are you using? Pictures are helpful. Until these things are known, trying to diagnois your problem is next to impossible.

Something not right with your antenna setup. Either you have bad coax or improper type of coax, No ground for the antenna mounting bracket, Insulator in mounting bracket installed wrong or broken causing a shorted antenna or just a bad antenna all together. More info on your setup and how it is installed is a must before any further diagnosis.

Have you checked with an external swr meter?
