It kinda also sounds the compressor might not be charging the tanks properly. I had a international 9500i that left me in almost the same predicament on the north face of mount ashland on the 5. The thing did not charge my tanks and the emergency lights came on and everything it did not charge until almost the exit to the scale. I struggled with it for almost 2 weeks until the whole compressor got swapped. Glad ur alright tho.

Well the one before the last....let's see....the only thing you needed your feet for was to hold down the arm for the pad break on the rear spoked wheel...you know the one made of wood with a metal band around the outside....we didn't have rubber yet, not for tires anyway!

they have had them little peddles around for a long time. it's an option some one ordered when they spec the truck. it keeps some of these super truckers from shifting with a jake. it's old school setup.

 

Have the service brakes checked, it sounds as though they may be out of adjustment. Unless it was brake fade.

In this case, it probably saved your butt, if not your life.
