I am glad this one is banned, this is terrible advice. The internal gears are the same strength in 18s or 13, 15. The 13spd and 15spd do not have the low gear of the 18b. The 18 has the most range available for this use.

I run a 91 fld120 with a 11.1 Detroit, 9 speed, spring ride, day cab, 3.90 gears, LP 24.5. Does fine. Isn't the strongest pulling truck but gets 6mpg avg hauling logs. Avg weight of load is 27-30 tons. As high as 35 tons.
