My first truck I sold is been running just a few months up in canada, but me and my dad rebuilt a few of his truck back in the day which ran for years until he wanted a new one, I just got into flippin them recently. Yea I am wanting pre emissions 00-05. Where I am daycabs are like gold alot of grain haulers and city owner operators but I can't find any atm. I found one but I'm trying figure out what its worth, when I drop another motor in it, N-14's easy to find for a good price. Here is the link of the one I'm looking at I'm think 20k?? http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/3824711106.html Maybe I can get him to go down to about 9

ARE YOU INSANE 20K WHEN YOUR DONE WITH IT?!?!? Nobody in their right mind...even a few that are legally insane are going to pay you 20k for that truck. New motor or not. That's just highway robbery. I wouldn't give 14 for that truck even after you get done with it.

You're going to have to do some searching for auctions around your area. Don't know about your state, but you may need a wholesaler / dealer license if you will be selling over a certain number of trucks per year. You may even need an area for vehicle storage and showing them, and also a little office. There are various licenses states make up. You could also get a wholesale transporter plates. Personally, you should be able to purchase, build and sell whatever the hell you want without any of this nonsense. I do not know how your state is, so you should check it out.
Here is a link to your state's dot. http://www.dot.state.oh.us/Divisions/Facilities/EquipMgt/auction/Pages/default.aspx . You should be able to find out some more info. The page I linked is for auctions. The third link is for private parties. Calling up some banks and see where they send their repo stuff to auction may help.
Stay away from buying older trucks. Why would you want a 94? Unless you are going to use it for yourself, and go to shows, don't waste your time. You have to look at what is the most marketable, and what will give you a quick turn around. You don't want inventory, nor your money sitting around. Go for a 2004 and up truck if you can. With all this emissions nonsense, at least these trucks will be more desirable in state's that are tightening up on emissions restrictions. For other trucks, you could start from yr 2000 and beyond. Folks are looking for greater fuel efficiency, so a 3406B isn't going to fly, whereas a 6NZ cat will be the better choice, and will sell much faster.
It's great you have folks willing to help you out and cut rebuild costs. They are doing you a huge favor. Don't forget to take care of them and show your appreciation. It will go a very long way. Being cheap, and not taking care of them from the proceeds of a sale could mean, "sorry buddy the shop is booked up, but I'll get back to you as soon as I can".
Quality of your builds and reputation will be very important. Who know's, you may be able to build some one off customs. Best of luck to you, I hope you do well in your endeavor. Don't forget the one's who helped you along the way, and where you came from. Bring success to those around you as well.
