It IS legal in Michigan for an employer to charge the employee for the DOT physical, IF it is part of their employment policy, clearly spelled out in their employee manual/handbook that you signed for and received PRIOR to the DOT physical. In other words, they can't force you to pay for it if you were informed you would be charged AFTER you took it.

Isn't NTB (Nationwide Truck Brokers) located in the Grand Rapids area?
-
ya they never said any thing before we went to the clinc we got back than signed the relase.
-
You are correct. NTB is in Grand Rapids. I drove for them for over 8 years but rarely got to GR as I drove out of the Tipp City, Ohio terminal.
I'm pretty sure you have to live within a one hour drive of any terminal or drop lot. At least, that's the way it use to be. -
Tipp City is a hellhole. I used to drop Equity Trailers for unloading at the Meijer's DC at the NTB lot. NTB kept trying to get me to quit Equity and move to Tipp City to work for them. As you can tell, I never did.
