Thanks. I have driven with the super singles on tanker tractor trailers. Can't say they are my favorite way of matriculating down the road, but they do keep things interesting!

Mike Jr. I got as far along with Smith as talking about scheduling orientation. One thing that I could never seem to a get straight answer on was CPM and home time. I never got a firm "you will start at $00.XX-per mile." It was always with "this, that, and the other thing you CAN make $00.XX-per mile. Home time was the nebulous most weekends, 3 out of 4 weekends, etc. As such, I am still at home bugging my wife and looking for a job. Can't believe this job search started in March!
Maybe you provide a clearer picture than the recruiter who I thought was emulating Ted Williams (the homeless guy with the Golden Voice) lol.
Thanks -
Gear grinder, I will be happy to answer any questions I can for you. 6Mo-1 try experience starts at $.35/not base pay. There are additional pay scales for short hauls under 300 mi. That add to the base rate. Hometime for most is guaranteed 3/4 weekends. There is a clause that states they can run home weekly drivers 1 weekend a month if needed. We did this once for about a year and a half a few yrs ago. Depending on where you live you will have a choice of home weekly or every other wknd. If you live on the far reaches of our hiring or running area... you MAY not have a choice. Any other? 's feel free to contact me. (847)571-6155

I live in Lebanon Pa about 15 minutes from 81 & 76 kinda central location is this a good lane for Smith? Can I drive more south and midwest and be home weekends my wife works weekends and I have a 2 year old daughter need to be home weekends
-
It is a good area as we do a fair bit out of Carlisle and camp hill. As for weekend hometime shouldn't be a problem, but as with any company in the industry, not always guaranteed.. BUT THEY DO TRY. My trk # is 1949 if you call tell them I gave you some info but youre lo looking for more. There Is a clause that Tyre states we can be forced to work,1 wknd a month but t hi s has only been implemented once in 8+ years. For a few Month's.

Thanks for the info I've worked for a smaller company always been lucky to be home for weekends. We haul a lot out of Carlisle syntec did a dedicated van run to greenville ill. twice a week as a company driver and pulled a skate board as a o/o till my truck blew up 3 months ago so I'm back doing hvac work but miss driving love time with daughter hate my job Smith always caught my eye would I be able to run down south or midwest and be home weekends or would I have to run northeast thanks sgsin for your time I'm a little hesitant on big companies but need good benifits and pay
-
You would see northeast, Midwest, and some southern runs (not as much). You would likely get in Fri Eve and leave sometime Sunday, although that is the standard there are often times you wouldn't leave till sun aft/Eve or Mon am. Not sure What you considered a lg company, were are a mid size at best about 800 trucks. There is also the chance you could get on as a local driver.(don't know much about this side of things).
