If you weigh your loads then why worry? But if you don't and get a ticket, well you have noone to blame but yourself. If your load is too heavy and can't make it legal, don't be surprised if the DOT will make you off load it there/I've seen it happen. Then you will have something to complain about because you'll pay to have someone take extra weight off with a forklift.

You got Lucky. $50 Fine is nothing for overweight.

I have only had one overweight Ticket, and it was like $700-800.
Was due to a Load Shift in a Dry Van.

Didn't pay it on the Spot.
Company paid it, by mail or however they do it, then they took it back out (of my Paycheck(s)) in 4 Easy Payments.

Fines can get real spendy. I do oversize loads and you want to make sure your weights are right with your permits..
I've paid some fines before. Most so far knock on wood was 2500.00
I know a person who got nailed in Il. for being off rte. 3 blocks on the west side of Chicago. 30 grand in fines. over weight over length and over width..

You can't move the tandems then you have a shop do it like the TA .Cost $25.00.I don't think your company would object to that.If so then tell them you're not moving till it gets fixed.
