Personally I would recommend Central but there are also thousands of good smaller companies out there. It just takes time to find them. The good companies don't spend millions of dollars to advertise. They don't have too! Take a drive, write down some names that you see driving around.

Another option you have in your area is "Truck Movers". Most new trucks come out of the Northwest and they all need to be delivered. Running just the new trucks themselves is a pretty good gig.

Think outside the box man, you don't have to haul general freight. There's a lot of unique gigs out there, once again, you just have to take the time to find them. Craigslist is a good outlet. I often see some good gigs pop up on there from time to time. Just be smart about it if you do. You have to know how to weed out the scammers. Don't send any info until you have a company name or private email you can verify. Also don't deal with the "seat fillers". (companies that hire drivers for other companies. ) Kind of like labor finders for truckers.

    Good luck man...

How could anyone recommend what you want when we do not know you? Instead of having others do you job you need to make a list of what you want and go out and find it. Just like chompi says the better companies have no need to advertise so you need to find them. What someone might like in a company you might hate. Just whatever you do never quit a job before you have another. I never just relied on a few drivers on what they said about a company. I took what they said and used it but a lot of other factors had to come into play before I even tried. Good luck and you'll feel much better knowing you found what you liked.

Try the search feature on this website. Just about everything you would want to know has already been asked and answered, ad naseum. Especially your particular question.

FWIW, you should never quit a job without having another one already lined up. As in, ready to start the day after you quit. It just ain't smart to do otherwise. The only exception I could see would be if your life was in danger.
