It's always beneficial to have as much technique/skill level as you can learn. Sometime/where you will need it. When Tony and I strated driving there was no Internet or Computers to ask questions. We learned from the old hands by watching and making mistakes.:biggrin_25521:

My buddy loaned me his truck this morning and I have double clutching a try.... Not that hard really.... But I admit easier without the clutch. Especially on the down shift.

Spent some more time in the cab today.... Practiced the double clutch.. I got pretty well.. But I gotta be honest, I prefer no clutch.

When I took the MB class 1 road test in 2010 we were instructed to use the clutch. It is after all the "correct" way to shift. Get used to it for the test, use it on the test , then drive how you want when you've got your class 1.

And don't forget getting slapped in the back of the head when we screwed up.

Double clutching is a pain in the ###. When I was in school we had a super 10 that we tested on. If you have ever drove a super 10 Im sure you could see where a student could have a hard time double clutching a super 10 for a test. I nailed my pretrip and skill's test the 1st time around, but it took me 3 time's to pass my road test. Ive been driving a little over a year now and havent hardly used the clutch in that time. I dont understand why they make you double clutch to get your cdl. When I got to my training company I was double clutching and they said knock that off lol, then taught me how to float gear's, so much easier.
