Electric plug ins would be nice when the weather is cold. Makes them big engines start easier, and when it gets cold enough they won't start at all without being plugged in.

Okay -- since I'm not a trucker, I have to ask: How much would truckers be willing to pay for a night in a bed & breakfast?
It sounds lovely -- a "home", shower, home-cooked food, and sleep -- but I'll be honest here. It would be really tough for me to shell out the cost of a night's stay in a B&B when I have sleeping accommodations immediately behind my driver's seat. But then again, I have inherited my parents' frugal gene.
So I'm curious what the cost would be and what drivers would be willing to pay.

About $30. $35 tops.

Great name for your BNB.Im not aware of anything like it.Many of the old Truckstops were converted old houses.Suppose the Bingo Buckhon is still around.Accident MD,with the old rooms for rent and "these colors never run"I don't know where to retire science they razed the old place.Alot of Drivers have no scence of adventure and will NOT venture the mile off route. If it was profitabe, there would be many?I like your idea alot.I would not however invest in.I go $50 whithout blinking.Park at customer/shipper,under a bridge, carwash, ect.Transportation means just that.In transit.Funny when politicians say "bring home".When inlistested you don't come home no more.Again,Great name and idea!...........My suggestion is $10 Goldbug Detector rental.

What kind of set up ?
This farm is not to far from a diesel pump at a Mom&Pops store, which takes your rig up to a main highway thru this city to the freeway. -
My HomeStead for OTR would be a Treat for the driver who just needs a friggn break.
After your 70 hrs out and 38 out of the truck, this area has everything if you wanted to go to town for something.
It would be like stopping at Aunt B's place, course I ain't no Aunt B, trying to quit cussing and doing a pretty good job.
I would offer a room to sleep in, hot shower , good food , ringer turned off of the phone and the answering machine takes my calls, Quiet time!
A Safe haven, a recliner with a remote to ESPN,Hunting channels ,ect....
It might be a place to stop at for a refresher in life once a month.
Yea and I will do the laundry, weather provided your shorts are lined dried and daisy fresh!!!!
And it sure the he** won't be cheap.
but it would be cost effective and worth the treat for you and me. I like company once in a while.
Besides I don't have any relatives who drive truck so I don't get many visitors.
I do operate a horse farm, and there are 4 cats still alive and living here and a Big ##* Rotti and one Boston Bulldog, who doesn't fart a lot!

$30 to $35.
Gets you a PB&J and a stall in my barn.

no not really.
Depends on how much work it is for me, cuz this is a place of rest and mental DOWN time for the driver (s)
I run a very tight kitchen, got a thing about unwashed hands. I like my kitchen clean and simple and I do like to cook.
Course I am open to a man who likes to cook, my men friends in SD at there horse ranch ,2 brothers, are the two best cooks I have ever eaten with, better than my Mom, course my Mom, serves more green vegi's.

Whats a $10 Goldbug Detector ?
Yea a driver could have a choice.
Park the rig and get a ride to his or her "HomeStead" and shut er downnnnnnnnnn! -
yeah...just gravel I guess, lol...always called it class 5.
Hookups would be a nice feature, doesn't hurt.
Ziggy is my nickname.
Lots of malls out there don't allow trucks unfortunately. I myself just park at the local mall because while I was previously parking at the local Flying J, it would get packed at night and if I came home late, no chance of finding a good spot. Plus we do a load swap at the mall so it works out well in the end. -
The plug ins are electric outlets for the 1500 watt engine block heaters. This would require a aditional charge(or cost).Goldbug detector is used for gold nugget shooting.I have walked cross from truckstop around Vidor,Tx and went to their Pay fish pond.Pretty cool. The Truckstop in Mireral wells,WV,Had a 48 footer outfited with 4 tiny showers sistered up to the back of the building,Cut 4 doorways in back of building and side of trailer.Piped it all-up and "Presto".Regulations prohibit alot of business from operation.I suppose that why I never have been to a BNB.
