I just bought a used truck from a dealer. Will be driving it from Arkansas to Texas. I bought it from a small dealer, he is going to provide 30 day temp tag.
Where can I purchase 3 day or 30 day temp insurance? I called 2 companies, national and classic both provide insurance but they are closed on the weekend. Does anyone know where I can buy The temp insurance to make it back to TX?
with temporary tags will I have to pay any other fees for crossing the state?
I don't think they will really mess with me at the scales since I will be driving bobtail. Usually the scale is looking for overweight trucks, and since I won't even have a trailer, I am assuming they won't really mess with me as long as I have all of the right paperwork...
Thanks in advance!
Where to get temporary 3 day insurance? Bought used truck.

Do you have current insurance? Call that company to see if they'll cover this rig on the ride home. If you need to move it this weekend, you could call Progressive, I know they're 24/7 and they advertise covering big trucks.

Thanks for the replies guys!
@charliegirl: oh really? What I mean is I'm going to have all legal paperwork including insurance and the truck is DOT ready. If I can't get ins on the weekend, I will just end up waiting until Monday to drive it back.
@charliegirl: when they pulled you over, they just checked your paperwork or did an inspection as well...
@jtm22: my regular insurance for all my other trucls, they won't do temp insurance
thanks for all the replies. -
Well, in that case. State Farm has served me well with temp coverage, but I also had another 2 open policies when I got that temp.
