A 2200 mile long double fence with motion detectors and a road in-between would be better

I'll say it again, when a day passes that no American is injured or killed by an American truck, then people can throw stones.

Folks are missing the point. This was not a truck involved in the new border program. This was a drayage truck limited to the near border area. This accident would have happened regardless of any rules applying to border crossings. Turning it into any form of argument for or against the rules permitting in Mexican long haulers is missing the point. These drayage trucks have been coming in for many years, and this accident has nothing to do with the current political climate and the border program.

And if you were to eliminate the border drayage program, then when there is a shipment between the two countries, you will have to drive your nice shiny truck into Mexico and pick up the trailer, and that seems to be something most American drivers do not want to do.

I agree with Burky, but what bothers me is that by using driving practices like that are putting Americans in danger when they do cross the border, and travel further into the US. They are used to driving like that, they are not going to say, "oh, I'm in the US now, I better drive safely".
