How does USX verify past employment? I've read somewhere on here that you should take W2s with you and old stubs. But I don't have any of that stuff from old jobs so what should I do?
Quick question.

Contact your previous employers and tell them USX will be calling and will they please verify your employment. You can also get your employment history as reported to the IRS. Form 4506Rollin_18 Thanks this.

If you have driving experience with any of the major carriers, you should have a DAC file. When USX pulls your DAC they can see what has been reported. If you have never driven, then you can get letters from past employers. Most carriers will have you sign a form which give them permission to contact former employers. Most will send a fax to verify employment and ask the former employer to fill out the form and fax it back.

He states in his profile he is a student. No DAC report. One of the things that hold up people at orientation all the time is employment verification. They will not hire you until they get all the responses.

Looks like I'm going to do both Craig. With the luck I have had I am making sure I have everything else set in place so I can get right on the road. I graduated trucking on feb 22nd, 2013 and come to find out I had a warrant block for TWO!! (Not one lol TWO!!) which screwed me from going anywhere cause now I have four moving violations in the past 3 years
I was crushed because truckin is a dream I have had since a little kid. But come this December ill be going to USX with that IRS form and a paper from all my old jobs (seven in total, I'm young and was never happy at jobs because I always knew what I wanted to do in life and was trying to find something to make money and pass the time but couldn't lol) saying I worked there and what dates and will be signed by every manager lol.
