I went to Swift orientation today 6/4/2013 and while the recruiter told me that they have both standard and automatic trucks., in the orientation they told me that they are NOT gonna give me a Automatic unless I lease it !!
Any ideas about that "Lease" please....
You guys are longer in the job and know much more .
I appreciate any advice's ....thank you all again -

George, do a search on the forums about leasing trucks from Swift and other similar companies. The only one who can really answer your question on that is you. There's a ton of information here about the topic and you'll hear people who will call you crazy for even considering it as well as people who have made it work for them successfully. It depends on your own situation (current financial obligations, whether you have money in savings to help you through the hard times, how fast you learn, how dedicated you are to making it work no matter what it takes, et cetera.)
Wish we could give you a great answer, but you really are the only one who can decide. Luckily, there's a lot of information here, including some threads that are about how to successfully lease a truck - even after 1,000 people scream that you shouldn't do it.
Just know that a lot of people have lost their ### in a lease. Others have been very happy. The cards are stacked against you, but it can be done.GeorgeTheGreek Thanks this. -

I was a Quality Control Engineer in my former life but..I had a terrible accident and now i have to choose a different kind of job.
I got hit by 10.000 KW in the factory i last worked and i got thrown like 20-25 feet in the air and I end up in a wall.My left hand was badly damaged ,the muscle that was connected to elbow was removed and they had to operate and re-connected with a couple screws..lol..but I was alive..yes !! and now i can start all over.
That's why i have a bit problem shifting (grind gear) and that's why I am looking to work with Automatic transmission trucks.
And again..Thank you all for your advice's and the help..I really appreciate that !!Last edited: Jun 10, 2013
