Hey George, think we were in the same class. I failed first state test, now have passed and will be in orientation tomorrow. Were you in Lewiston?

 

George, do a search on the forums about leasing trucks from Swift and other similar companies. The only one who can really answer your question on that is you. There's a ton of information here about the topic and you'll hear people who will call you crazy for even considering it as well as people who have made it work for them successfully. It depends on your own situation (current financial obligations, whether you have money in savings to help you through the hard times, how fast you learn, how dedicated you are to making it work no matter what it takes, et cetera.)

Wish we could give you a great answer, but you really are the only one who can decide. Luckily, there's a lot of information here, including some threads that are about how to successfully lease a truck - even after 1,000 people scream that you shouldn't do it.

Just know that a lot of people have lost their ### in a lease. Others have been very happy. The cards are stacked against you, but it can be done.

 

Ok, We had a George in our class, very good driver. He was an RV technician in former life.

 

Be careful here, you might just talk yourself right out of a job. If you can not hold the steering wheel or you show you might have control problems the company will say "Next".
