I saw a bunch of people doing this. Putting there stories of training on here so i decided to do mine. I am leaving the 23 to Memphis for one week then to Salt Lake City for another week. I am starting to feel nervous. I have never done any thing like this before.

Every dream starts that way. I bet you do great.

We were all nervous when we first started, and most of us still are. You will do just fine. Just pay attention, take your time, use every chance you get to learn more, and be willing to work. Keep us updated, we really enjoy hearing from folks who are trying hard.

Oh i will keep in touch. I think i am more nervous about never driving a manual before.
-
We had a student in our Central Fontana class who had never driven a manual before. Although a few of us in class with him were a little worried he wouldn't make it...he surprised us all, made it through class and survived his trainer, and is now out on his own and doing great.
Have faith in yourself and in your trainers, and you'll do just fine. -
why would you guys think never driving a manual means anything? i never drove one hell most people never drove one. and im solo. and i struggled i even wanted to quit because i had trouble putting the landing gear down and pulling the fifth wheel in trucking school.

Driving a big rig with a manual, you can't prepare for until you do it. I used to drive three ton trucks and big rigs are a whole new animal. Finesse is the name of the game so you don't damage anything. Don't worry yourself about it.

I have faith in myself. I have been wanting to be a truck driver since i was 9 years old and now that i am getting close to actually doing it, is what makes me nervous.
