Maybe I missed it on my old license, but when I renewed my CDL in GA this month it has an "N" restriction which it says means "no class A or B passenger buses." I also have a passenger endorsement, which supposedly allows me to drive vehicles with 16 or more passengers. I only have it so I can drive for my church occasionally, but I am confused. What is a class A or B bus? Do I need to pay attention to vehicle weight before I load the senior citizens for their trip? I tried the DDL web page, but it wasn't much help, and with the new ID rules in GA this year contacting anyone is a nightmare (so is going in; it took 2 hours to renew my license). If anyone has any insight, I am curious. Thanks

It is based upon the vehicle that you took the skills test in for your passenger endorsement. I took mine in a full size school bus, and so my class A CDL got the restriction that the passenger endorsement was only good through class B. If you took your passenger endorsement skills test in a class C bus, then you are only allowed to drive buses class C or smaller. The fact that you've got a class A or B CDL is irrelevant, as the passenger endorsement requires a skills test of its own. If you want to drive a bigger bus, you'll have to test in a bigger bus.

Obviously you had to check it before you said it was okay. You have to wait in line for 2 hours again.
