The times they are a changing...
-
I know they are regulated when they drive, but do they have a permanent residence when they are OTR?
-
"Adverse possession" also known as Squatting is not illegal in the US. In fact there are laws that help squatters. Living in a truck is not squatting. A truck is not real estate property. Sorry. Your analogy does not hold up.
These crazy conservatives with their right and wrong are the people you have to fear. They are without a soul or conscious, and should be treated like the hyenas they are. Watch out for them. -
Since we're on this subject if I come across an abandoned house with boarded up windows can I move in and claim adverse possession?
-
They sure have you brainwashed! You see the hate they have instilled in you because somebody thinks differently than you, you hate them! That is called divide and conquer. And you drank a couple glasses of their coolaid! LMAO!

In some states if the house is abandoned and you move in and pay tax for 5 years you can claim it. In some cases there is a back tax owed the city or county has not claimed it and have it up for auction you can claim possession after you pay tax. Check with your local laws and make sure there is back tax owed and you've just found yourself a great deal. Most of the time your city or county does not know it's abandoned until tax is owed.

OK..FutureDriver:
Stop thinking truck and think RV. That is what living in the truck is..being the same as an RVer.
Then what you need to do is get a copy of the "Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations." That contains all the "thou shalts" and "thou shalt nots truckers drivers must know and abide by.
Then, if you are still interested, get a copy of the hazmat regs and read that.
That should answer your questions about whether truck drivers are squatters in some grey area beyond the Feds and States authority to regulate and tax.Last edited: Jun 11, 2013
