MsJaime has it right. 75 is minimum, but most of the time its going to be 100+hrs of one on one, and you will be driving all over the states instead of within a small radius of a school. I keep students a minimum of 3 weeks, more if needed. The difference between prime and a driving school is real world driving experience, instead of a parking lot with cones, and local roads the school instructor already knows.
I have yet to see a shipper/reciever always have large open spaces and nicely coned lanes so you can back into a door...just sayin.
With that said, just remember that everyones experience will be different, and dont be led into thinking that you have to accept the instructor/trainer you were assigned to. If things are not going well, or you feel you are not learning, you need to SPEAK UP, msg/call/write a letter, anything, to get your fm's attention, and get you where you need to be to give you the most out of your learning experience.
Drive safe, and have a good day all!

The length of time you spend behind the wheel in the PSD phase at prime depends on a few things, such as: Weather, Type of Load, where it's going (Canada, you might be a guest at the Motel 6), and your aptitude. As you progress and drive in more difficult decisions your competence and confidence will improve. Prime PSD students should be calling their FM (yes, your Instructor's FM is YOUR FM too) and telling them about your progress. When you and your instructor feel you are ready, and you have met the minimum requirements, you should be headed back to the yard to test.
