If the negotiated rate was fair to good, I roll with it. If the rate was at my minimum, then I'm on the phone with CH re-negotiating the rate.

A lot of times, actual weight is just estimated. (by either the shipper or broker). What's wrong with loading 26k instead of 14k ? How many times you think you're picking up 45k and actually get 32k ?

I thought maybe he was doing an LTL and the EXTRA weight was going screw up his next P/U.

some of you just like to flat out complain. LOL.

i'm picking up a 30k load. right now i've got 2 blocks weighing 35k on to support the load. still waiting on the actual load itself to be thrown on the trailer.

it pays $3.25 per mile. should i be asking for more already? cuz i'm obviously going to be way heavier then what i was told.

If this is your truck & your name is on the door and you have a confirmation with everything you need wt.amount an so on then you can ask for a new confirmation for the new load values which most likely will be ignored by the broker simply because they know you Ain't Gona Do Anything But take it
so now you can't continue to negotiate verbally you will have to at least communicate via fax or email So you can get Everything on paper
    To avoid any misunderstanding .
The big companies out there they just bill you for the extra charge simply by presenting you with the new invoice with the detailed charges explained and if you don't pay the full amount then they will add late fee's charges until they scare the pants off of you and trash your credit if necessary
The question is Can you afford to wait and do that?
If yes then it's your money get it because you need it
