ok here goes......i am currently looking to start CDL school in 2014(long story).I have a felony conviction dating back almost 10 years....when i was 19 i was involved with a 15 year old girl so needless to say im also a RSO.i have to register only until 2015 and by the time i get my CDL my felony will be more than 10 years old.i have no other major convictions.since i am getting off the registry and the conviction is over 10 years old will i be able to puesue a career in truck driving?

What does "no other major convictions" mean?

The one you mentioned if that's all its about is BS IMO.

Get ready to have the sanctimonious crowd to chew your butt.

The poster did pose the question to be criticized or judged! I don't agree with the actions either but that's beside the point. Here's your answer.......Many companies will except drivers with felony convictions. Sometimes it depends on what it was for or how long ago it happened. When I taught CDL school I had a student that had just gotten out of prison after a 10 year sentence for kidnapping. He had no problem finding a job. Talk with the school BEFORE you enroll and be HONEST with them. Most schools offer job placement and can tell you what companies will hire you. It will be difficult but not impossible for you to find a job. Every company is different but the school's enrollment or job placement service will be able to help you more.
