Uh, so I gather "tiny" means something along the lines of "a shack by a dirt lot"?

nah... but, its an actual house... with a big backyard lol. I am not sure what it was used as before, but the building itself is fine, has a lounge, which looks like it was a garage or something, has showers vending machines etc.. its just a residential area, and seeing the truck go down that road looks like you're lost especially when it looks like you're trying to pull into someones house

Cripes, and this is what I have to look forward to, eh? Suddenly USA doesn't sound like such a bad gig. Ah well, I guess the size of the terminal doesn't change much, long as I'm trained and all.

Seems like the manager out there reckons it'll be next to impossible getting me a load out to Delawere, which kind of bites but it is what it is I guess.

yeah the terminal is what it is, you shouldnt be spending much time there anyway
thats the problem with not living near a terminal, with a company that doesn't already have a place arranged for you to leave the truck. You're gonna be stuck doing some traveling until you get your stuff closer to gary but you kinda knew that since they hesitated to bring you on at first. Being near a terminal makes things easier... a company telling me well, we have a customer we COULD get you, to me means nothing. at least when you are near a terminal, even if you are loaded theres possibility to drop a trailer and they could get it repowered. Its like when I applied at kellys transport, they called, i told them I was moving out east (before I picked TN so I was kinda open to where I was moving) and they said well you cant take the truck home but we have people that we hired out of PA, I said so I could run out of PA and leave the truck there? they said well those are special circumstances, I said oh ok, thanks... why they kept calling me I will never know if I just told ya Im moving out east and you tell me I cant live out there and work for you.... lol

Lol makes sense to me. I reckon the recruiters may have been acting on their own a little bit to get me on board. Honestly though, I think I'll be okay. I came to them with the idea, so I can't say I didn't expect there to be some strings attached, and really, most of my good friends live in Fort Wayne which is easy enough to get to from Gary. I'd say it wouldn't be a huge loss if I couldn't get back east but every 6 months or so.

By the way Blue, I read through your thread about your orientation there and a bit of the former truckers lounge as well, you all have really helped out a lot in me thinking about who I want to go to (and avoiding Werner and Swift haha). So thanks for that

Was looking at going with May, but I have a question. Will they let you park your car at the terminal? The nearest terminal to my house is over 100 miles away. It would be a real pain in the ### to have to arrange for a ride every time I take some home time.
