That is one of my favorite things about the company. I read some of the posts on here from van guys who "earn" one day off for every 6 or 7 out. I couldn't imagine working like that. Sometimes I'm out for a couple of weeks and ready to go again as soon as my hours reset. Other times I go out 4 or 5 days and for whatever reason feel like I need a break for 3 or 4. I'm glad I work somewhere where they make their best effort to accommodate my (sometimes absurd) requests.

I agree. Trucking is the only industry where they expect you to "earn" time off. Other industries give it to you and then pay you extra if you work on the weekends. Sat and Sun off is 104 days per year and that doesn't include vacation and holidays. These companies expect you to "earn" 52 per year. No wonder driver turnover is 100%. How does Schnieder handle holidays? Do you get paid extra if you work say July 4?

No holiday pay, major source of complaint among the drivers. Myself included.

That's an extra $1200 per year for us. This is the type of benefit that helps take actual per mile pay to .57 off the hub. Any hourly pay does as well.

What does "hub" and "off the hub" mean exactly, wsyrob?

Hub miles are the actual miles the truck moves. Companies pay either practical or hhm which are always less than the truck actually moves. Getting lost reduces my calculated cpm.

No, we are paid for 9 vacation days per year. If you work you get regular mileage, hourly, etc plus the holiday pay.
