Just wondering... Been checking out Schneider and some other companies. Trying to decide who to start with. Noticed there's a Schneider office in Miami. Any of you OTR drivers (SNI or others) make runs down there?
Any OTR drivers run to Miami?

Most common carriers will run to Miami, only a hand full will hire anywhere South of I-4. SNI may have an office there but they rarely hire and when they do it is for crappy dedicated runs.
Montgomery Thanks this. -
Do you have family there, just like Miami or perhaps want to move there? What is you motivation for wanting to run there?

Just wondering if Schneider or another similar company could get me down there for "home time" if I wanted to go. No family down there or anything, just think it would be a nice place to spend a couple days.Last edited: Jun 13, 2013

Doubtful as SNI is a dry freight bottom feeder. You are more likely to layover in Laredo TX or So Cal. Look for a produce hauling outfit if Southern FL off time is your goal.Montgomery Thanks this.

Hmm... Do you think they would have trouble getting me back to VA for home time?

Depends where they run. Best to find a company as close to your house as possible. Here in Chicago there are many that run to FL and back.Montgomery Thanks this.

Where do you park in southern Florida to go to the beach or into town? The truck stops I have been to are very sketchy at best.

gokiddo, you run to South Florida? If you don't mind me asking, what are you hauling?

I've run nabisco products to Miami when I'm forced to (reefer freight) and haul flowers back out, or bagel bites out of ft. Myers. That being said, there's nothing good about Miami. You pay for parking and still worry about getting your s--- stolen.
Come to think of it, running anywhere in fl sucks, and that's coming from a Tampa native.Montgomery Thanks this.
