I'm trying very hard to remain positive. I told the recruiter about my medication. He said it wouldn't be a problem. At orientation, they said they just need a medical release from my doctor. That's reasonable. No problem. Then their doctor wanted another fax from my doctor before she could sign my medical card. A little annoying, but whatever makes them happy. Up to this point, both forms they have from my doctor say that I have no side effects and that I can safely operate a CMV. Based on that information, they want my complete medical history with the prescribing doctor sent to their corporate medical adviser so he can review it and make a decision. They have my 10 year work history, I passed the road test and 2 backing tests, I've been on the same medication longer than I've been a truck driver, and I was up front with them about it before I left my previous job and went to orientation. After nearly 8 accident free years behind the wheel of a truck, there must be something special about the 62mph JB Hunt trucks that take a special kind of skill I've yet to demonstrate. I understand that they have the right to decide who can and can't work for them, but if there's a specific medication that puts someone on their black list, they should be up front about it. If their corporate guy likes what he sees, I'm getting off to a late start but I'll try to put it behind me and stay positive. If they decide I'm not worthy because of something I told them weeks ago, that goes a step beyond ridiculous. For now I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope the whole past week hasn't been a complete waste of time and money for both of us.

get out as quick as you can!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had all the above except any meds, but the night and wkend dispatching is horrendise. Plus I ran for 3 wks for them plus orientation and got $2400 after taxes. They picked and deducted and charged me to death. Plus the lies and absence of live people on the phones in all depts is very aggrevating. I ran hard with the promise to make 950/wk, and I didn't see it. And every driver I talked to was real negative about the co and said just wait,,they don't care abt you, they just want freight moved the way they want it moved no matter what you make. I'm not a quitter but BJ Hunt made me open my eyes and realize I'm not an idiot...and just I meant BJ...good luck,,ur gonna need it

Finally got medical clearance today, so tomorrow I can get out there and see what happens. The DC I'm running out of is very close to my house, and I have a positive impression so far of my FM. As long as I don't have to deal with the corporate people too much, things could potentially go well.

the corporate people you wont even see. Keep positive and don't listen to the haters. You make your own judgement call and you should do good....

I live in a northern suburb of Houston, I'm going to orientation in Dallas next week and doing OTR (out for 28 days home for 4, my choice)....I have a little over 2.5 years experience, and was told that since I wanted to be out for 4 weeks instead of 3 or 2, I would start at .41 a mile. No other companies I talked to could get anywhere near that. The best offer I had received up until I talked to JB was .36 a mile. Even if I only got 2000 miles a week I would still gross 820 at .41 a mile. As a single 27 year old guy with only myself to support, very few bills, and no intentions of adding anything new to my plate, I'm good with that. Anyway, if anyone has any information about OTR with JB (even if it has already been posted elsewhere on this thread) please share it with me. Any info about orientation would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Many companies pay practical miles. But I think JB pays hhg/short miles. So you will likely drive many miles for free. Practical is very close to actual miles. Something to consider.
