Talked to a guy a few weeks back at a TA. He said they pay cheap and the runs aren't very long. You can sit a lot and he wasn't very happy with them.

i heard different from a friend of mine and another W.E. Driver. they said they keep you busy its hard to get you home on time. Thanks for the thread though i do appreciate it. Im joining then on 2 weeks so im hoping i get the runs and miles to at least make the money....

Do they have a sign on BBBBBBBBBonus...

Make sure U split that $$$$$$$$$$$$$ with the driver that signed U UP
If you look @ the company Trucks& Trailer & you Can see your self owning that truck&trailer then you are half way there
If the driver that tells you they are making $$$$$$$$$$$$ a mile or Paycheck and they look like they Can't afford a Peanut Butter & sardines sandwich
Then Get you should think twice a bout what U Been Told..

I have a friend that drives for them. He's a rookie and is doing the Poland Springs route. He likes it, but doesn't make it home much.

Search box top left corner. Dozens of threads about the bottom feeders.

I am just curious as what defines a "bottom feeder"? Is that any mega carrier that churns through newbies? Is it wages? Is it employee treatment? Management issues (I.e. time, resources, etc.)? I hear the term but as a wannabe I want to make sure I understand the criteria so I can avoid such companies.cellopudding and Badboy4lyfe69 Thank this.

Bottom feeders are companies that hire newbies with zero experience and then pay them training wages for the first year after the first initial training period is successfully completed. Some people believe that people with zero experience should earn top wages right out of the chute. Moreover, the reason they get such a bad rap is because the vast overwhelming majority of newbies will never make it past the first year for a whole host of reasons and instead of blaming themselves for their failures, they blame the so-called bottom feeders.Badboy4lyfe69 and Gunner710 Thank this.

Should they not just be called starter companies? Or entry level companies? They pay an entry level wage equal to experience. This is how all industries work. Is McDonalds a bottom feeder company? It is the entry level for many people as well.Badboy4lyfe69 Thanks this.
