Nice radio. Need to find out where the CB band is on that radio and once you do, never move the band switch. That way you don't accidentally flip it to the ham band, start talking and wind up with a fine.

I was told d was the correct band for cb use

It very well could be....if so just make sure you never get off the D band

new here, just a connex 4600 turbo, im guessing I have to get my own SWR meter and tune it since I see no swr meter dial built in? also what do the dials NB/ANL, MIKE RF GAIN ,RF PWR AND E-TONE do? the connex I bought used, from radioactive.com 2yrs old. But the went inside did all up grades all new receivers, modules transmitters the works. also included a super whack pack in the deal comes with 2 year warranty. all for $300, only problem is, NO manual to describe the feature of these dials and what they do. Can anyone help. id appreciated.

OK I don't know if this helps but it is the service manual for the 4400 and on I think page 3 is a description of the controls.
Can't help with the modifications but I heard nothing but bad things about that super wacker job. -
Ouch.didnt wanna hear that. The seemed like he had a lot of knowledge in this field. Ya he could of sold me a new galaxy dx but he didn't rack me over the coals. This connex was completely did over, upgraded with better performance to push out 200/250 watts. Just cause you get a new cb doesn't mean it's gonna do what it's supposed to right out of the box. I was trying to go a better route and save 300. Well I guess we are gonna have to wait and see. I know few drivers who have wack packs and no issues. I guess it all depends on the person you go to. I've got a 2 yr warranty. I hope I don't to use it anytime soon.lol. thanks for the help.

You might say you've never heard a bad whack packed radio.....that's sort of like someone saying he's never heard a sound sweeter than a Chevy truck with a 350 V8 and glass pack mufflers.....when most of us hate glass pack mufflers and their sound because we've heard better and know better.
It takes a trained ear IMO to distinguish what an overmodulated splattering radio sounds like.... -
Gotcha.thanks for the input
