Thanks, couldn't be happier with my decision. Moving to Devon and working with a taxi crane company in Edmonton. Starting out as a rigger and apprenticing to be a mobile crane operator. My dream job.

I had a 5 year plan when coming out here to Alberta, and it's working out.

 

Devon is a nice town. Are you working for Encore by any chance?

 

Met with Don at Encore back in January. Was going to work for them end of May, then was postponed till late summer.

Got offered a job at RSI Crane Service as an apprentice. Working as a rigger first.

Don at Encore was a real nice gentleman, I would have been happy to work for them.

 

I had a blast with my latest jaunt to The Patch. I struck out with my employment hunt, but no biggie. Dinner with friends, met my brother, soaked at Banff Hot Springs, 90 minute deep tissue massage. Came back home to Manitoba for my freight-hauling job regular rotation.

The remarkable thing that happened was lady-related. I announced to a number of people at home that if I got the right offer of employment in Saskatchewan or Alberta, I was not coming back to Manitoba, except for business or visits.

This seemed to prompt three ladies to express "interest". I'm flummoxed. Any insight here? Would my possible non-availability make me more attractive in a forbidden fruit kind of way? Or did my declaration of a sense of adventure stir sudden attractions for ladies, based on my sudden display of confidence? I am a widower with no kids or other strings.

 

They suspect you will be making large sums of money and that's all their interested in.

 

I can second that I have had that happen to me also. If they were not interested in you before why else would they be interested in you now. Most all the time in this exact case it always seems to be about the money.
