Nissan Versa hit pickup in rear and comes to rest sideways in traffic lane. Pickup pulls onto side of road.
Werner comes along and nails Nissan in driver's door. Ouch - hello St. Peter.
The interstate is lit up pretty good around town here. I can't pass judgement but this might have been avoidable.
Looks like they blurred out the logo on the trailer for the article. They didn't on the live broadcast when I saw it.

From what the article says and from my beliefs, the truck driver was not at fault. At 0200 in the morning there were probably no lights from the two car accident so the truck driver could not see them. Sorry to hear about the person dying.
Jrdude5 Thanks this. -
I saw two Werner wrecks on I-80 in Ohio back in February. One had a load of cereal and the other was on its side in the ditch heading westbound.
-
Seems that there is a truck wreck and a fatality every day anymore around Nashville.
-
Werner will have lots of accidents due to sheer size. It is what it is. Not sticking up for them in any way, but when you have a few thousand trucks every where, things happen.
camerabrat and flood Thank this. -
Saw that yesterday. I couldn't even tell what kind of car/truck it hit. It was in front of the Werner kinda rolled up into a ball. This was at around 0900. Real messy.

A few years ago when they had all the construction in Nashville I came through 11 a.m. one morning and I-24 , I-65 , and I-40 all had a couple of lanes shut down due to fatalities .
-
Then he was out driving his own visibility, clearly driver's fault.
-
cause no one around knows how to drive
flood Thanks this. -
Tho the Swift striking the Nissan is one thing, I'm curious to know why the Nissan Versa rear ended the Ford Ranger pickup in the first place.
Anyway, most news reports are typically incomplete & unreliable in factual details, in general. They mostly are just accurate in... the end result.
