Hey Patty, since we may never hear from the OP again, would you mind sharing any further details about what happened in your particular case? It's very interesting to read that an owner of a trucking company would take the time and fire a driver on the spot ... I've worked for bigger companies so I wouldn't know what it's like to even know the owner... but Wow ...that's like unproffessionalism at it's worst
Question about being fired 3000 miles from home

i have done the trip before. we have had our differences. #### you think it sounds fishy i do too. he wouldn't even tell me what i did i just assumed it was over that load. no turning down loads for the company. I have asked him several times what were his exact reasons. i over heard him tell the taxi driver that dropped him off saying he flew from Cleveland to Seattle cause "i made him mad" They pay very well so i wasnt stranded broke or anything but i have no clue lol. yea i been driving 13 years. been through and seen alot. I was even one of the poor saps that was boned when arrow trucking shut down 3 days before Christmas. I was always polite. never argued always said yes sir and no sir. hell the week before i got a lvl one inspection and passed. he even gave me a bonus
told me to go see my kids for 3 or 4 days and come to the office 8am friday morning. i got a log violation my second week there for not putting my total milage on the log at the end of the day during a quick inspect in Texas and about a month ago my phone messed up and they just happened to try to call several times during that time. those are the only 2 times they ever said anything to me other than good job.
And about the serbian comment i have nothing against them. never even met one til this job.i have just heard story's over the years about Serbian owners. this company paid well has nice equipment and everything. Im a good driver. i ever turn down loads nyc nothing. They said that they would mail my pay stubs what ever pay im owed and a reason for my firing by June 21st so i guess ill just have to wait and see. Lol i really liked working there too and for me thats hard to find.
About the flight out there for him. i didnt mean that he flew the second i went to sleep. He said the load was supposed to be in puyallup by 7am pac time. i missed that and they wouldnt take the load til 6 am tuesday. im assuming thats when he got the tickets. I have no problems fessing up to my mistakes if i did something that bad to him that warranted this then so be it but hell i dont know. i will keep you posted tho.
On a lighter note i did have a nice 5 day vacation in the tacomah area. One last thing i didnt abandon his truck in washington if thats what any of you are thinking. i wouldnt do that no matter how bad the company was. i have more respect for people than that. -
Hey airforcetoo you will hear from op againairforcetoo Thanks this. -
Bad equipment.Last straw was when the trl axel busted while driving thru Muskogee.I did manage to get into the Pilot.Boss wanted me to run illeagal next day after the shop off loaded paper onto the rented trl.Clock was already ticking.I refused and the next 2 weeks it was Hell.Boss promised I could take trk home to clean it out and then i bring it back and he buys me a bus ticket. He shows up at the receiver looks at me and says Patty you're fired.Only boss did take me to the next town and I threw everything out in the snow and very cold and windy.A real nice religious guy took me to go rent a car. That driver that boss was with did quit that day when he got back to the yard. It's an unforgiving act to just leave drivers stranded.
airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Yeah if you sleep 4 hours a night.unloader and cetanediesel Thank this.

I wish you some much needed luck with your next company.

It would be tight but doable, especially if your truck will run 70+ and you have loose leaf logs.
Jakaby Thanks this. -
I hope so! Many OPs just post once and never come back. Dont leave us in the dark sir! Let us know what's the outcome! Take care and Be Safe!

I did a quick figuring out. I calculated that if I picked up and started rolling at 10am local time in Cleveland, I could be in the delivery in Washington by 7am local time, legally the way I typically log. Heck for ##### and giggles I factored in the ipcoming mandatory 1/2 break after 8 hrs from coming on duty!
airforcetoo, RickG and Jakaby Thank this.
