As a proud resident of NC I can tell you with good faith that if you speed through the gorge the NCHP will hook your tail up!! Them jerks like to hide where you can't see them till its to late. Also there are always rock slides through the gorge so keep your eyes peeled for boulders laying in or falling into the road. I also seen a black bear get hit by a Volvo truck right around mm-10 in NC last summer.

So I am beginning to get a bit frustrated with Central...
Last month (May) I was stuck at a yogurt plant for about 18 hours. Times were noted on the bills and the xpay department clearly told me my QC records show exactly how long I was there for. Sadly, the whopping $96 in detention didn't show up on that weeks check, or the week after and not this weeks either. I've been in contact with Central and they keep saying, "just needs to be approved..."
Then at the beginning of this month I recovered a truck while I was on home time. $250 and the terminal manager told me I would be paid for the mileage from my town in CO to CRSWVC. This was all supposed to be paid out on my first load back from home-time, which should have paid on this weeks check. I'll let you take a wild guess if its on there or not!
If they didn't look at my previous employment history and see that I was a bill collector once, they should know by tomorrow morning.
Fortunately I only had one surprise on this weeks settlement in terms of the lease truck. What remained of my CDL school balance after they applied the $1000 sign-on bonus was taken out in one big chunk. For some reason I figured they would just continue to deduct the remainder weekly... again, that's what I get for thinkin'!
All money BS aside, I really still am enjoying myself out here. Crazy to think its been almost four months since I started this journey.

So good to see someone actually LOOKING at their settlement and making sure things get paid. One time we were talking to a brand new trainer at CRSWVC.. Proudly wearing his new 'trainer' shirt.. Talked to him re: settlements and how we have to check and recheck that stuff gets reimbursed etc... He took his settlements on faith. The next day (we were still therefor some reason I can't remember now) we talked to him again... He had checked his settlements and found lumper fees that hadn't been reimbursed... Toll, load locks those types of things... So it's really important to check!! Keep notes and records... Our payroll clerk is awesome (Sandi), but others... Yeah, enough said there. If you can, get the Trip Pak scanner (or use your own scanner and just get the software) that way you still have the original paperwork and can see what has been sent. No questions if a receipt is there or not, or if a packet is received or not. OK... Stepping off my soapbox

I don't use the scanner, but I do make a pdf copy of ALL my bills before sending them in the trippak. I have no idea why you wouldn't look at your settlement, but that's not the first story I've heard like that. I even make Pdf copies of my lumper receipts for each load if needed.
Between the detention for that ridiculous layover at the plant and the recovered truck deal I'm owed roughly $450... Like I'm just gonna forget about it lol...
The lease op settlement leaves much to be desired and is far less organized than I expected, but I did make sense of it all.
When I first upgraded my company payroll clerk gave me a very nice lecture about properly filling out driver washout receipts before adding that she estimates at least twenty percent of us don't do it right and don't get paid for that work completed. /facepalm
But hey look at the bright side. I went and signed a lease and after my first check I'm not asking what in the hell did I get myself into lol..

I was half way into a qc message to payroll a few minutes ago about how I wasn't paid for the loaded portion of my Chicago to la load. I decided to double check and noticed they paid the entire loaded portion as "extra miles" down in the deductions/reimbursements section.
Another thing, I had a big stack of $290 in toll receipts to be reimbursed I would have sent them via trip pack, do not scan, fuel and permits, like they told me, but I did that with about $40 and didn't get my money. I had my dm walk them into f&p Monday morning and they were paid. Had I not paid attention to my settlement I would've just walked away from that money.

Yeah, after a while you know what you're suppose to be getting paid but still look over the settlements. Little reimbursements like a $50 lumper fee are harder to catch if they're missing because someone fudged a load or trailer number somewhere. I'm at CRSWVC skipping as much maintenance as possible trying to get to my preset in 18 minutes! Lol. Anybody wanna learn how to wash out a trailer in 4 minutes I'll be backed in there in just a sec!

You do know, if you washout your own trailer, you get paid $25... They want a receipt for it now, but $25 is $25...

A properly filled out receipt at that! Forget to fill out a line or not use YOUR address and you just wasted more time filling the #### thing out than central did denying payment.
Finally got X pay to pony up the moolah. Its being paid today. As for the money for the recovery? Terminal manager had no idea what I was talking about... After a twenty minute conversation he said he figured out what happened and would get back to me. So one project down, one more to go lol.

I'm trying ever so hard to get home, but my load that was supposed to be preloaded at 0830 is still in a door at 1413. It's gonna be several hours late to the 99, and I'm wondering if I'm gonna run out of hours here waiting for it.
To add insult to injury the yard dog backed in to me while I had my nose in the truck stop guide trying to find a new place to park that I can still make it to. If he had checked his mirror just 1/2 a second later I'd need a new hood and fender. As it is he only got tire rub on my bumper cover. Seriously close call. He was swinging that yard dog at me while doing a 90° back at about 20 mph. What is with these guys?
