Yes, there is a law against this. It's called the Comercial Drivers License. The goverment, in their infinate wisdom, has established certain criteria that determins if a person is capable of driving a CMV. Every driver that SNI hires has their CDL before coming to orientation.

In terms of statistics since SNI shortened the time spent on the road with a TE to 5-7the days (van division) the number of new drivers reaching 6 months accident free has gone up dramatically.

If we feel you're not ready we don't let you out on your own. If you don't feel ready you've got to speak up and SNI will work to resolve your issues.

Did he get any additional training?? He would've had to pass tests in order to go solo. If he didn't, I guess SNI would have required him to get additional training.

He needs to tell someone that he doesn't feel ready. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't tell him oh well take this $100,000 truck and load and do it or you are fired! Tell him to speak up. If he is too scared to do that then he is going to have to suck it up and become a man and drive the truck.

Eventually he is going to have to grow up. Some people get thrown to the wolves, some get their hand held their whole life. I've always been thrown to the wolves and it makes you a stronger person. Because then you figure out that you can only depend on yourself. Once you figure that out this world gets a lot easier. He will be ok.

Also keep in mind that there are kids his age over seas right now getting shot at and blown up. Be thankful that the only thing you need to really worry about is him getting in a fender bender. Tell him to go slow and be careful.

REALLY=Is anyone going to believe that really ????= We train them less and it makes them safer= lol ok
Its more like we train them less because its cheaper for our company and if they crash well we have insurance
3 days OTR when someone in DOT finds out who cares about Americas highways being safe they will start to make you train them longer and set a standard for OTR training hours Im sure

Been driving on highways since 1997. Have seen slow schneiders, but not any reckless ones.
