Yeah, I pretty much won't drive past 6:30pm local time unless I absolutely have to. Finding a parking spot between 7pm and 3am is way to difficult and risky if you want to avoid driving illegally. Driving a truck OTR second shift is hell.

Beautiful drive up to Cherryfield. Don't worry about it, there are things out there out of your control. It's kind of tight at the receiver up there, so be aware of your surroundings. Definitely not the worst situation though.

Wanted to get my safety meeting in, but broker said I had a 0900 delivery today in Green Bay. That meant parking where I got fuel, Roberts, WI, and driving straight through as soon as my 10 was up. Got here at 0850 and I'm now getting unloaded. Don't know where I'm headed after this.

Today is just one of those days. Dropped empty in Green Bay and went down to Neenah to pick up my loaded. Scanned in my paperwork at Russell, and had 2.5 hours to spare on my 14 once I got to the receiver in
Elwood, IL. It was supposed to be a drop and hook. Great. Lost an hour and a half going through Chicago. Got to the receiver, we have 3 trailers here. Still loaded. I'm now in a dock. With 15 minutes left on my 14. It's shift change. And they have ABSOLUTELY no overnight parking. Just because my teeth are showing, doesn't mean I'm smiling.

I learned to carry a king pin lock, drop the empty on the consignees property, secure the trailer, and drive off duty, personal to sleep. Cops pull up, Dude I am flat out of hours. Never got a ticket doing that. Its easier bobtailing than with the trailer. Ya learn to be creative, but you always have to be professional and courteous with the customers even though you are absolutely exhausted.

    Just my opinion.

Hope it worked out for you Weeble.

I'll go ahead and add more to the horror story that is this week.

Yesterday, spent 45 minutes cleaning my trailer after getting unloaded near St. Paul. Got to the shipper, Murphy Warehouse in Eagan, a load of sugar. They reject the trailer due to an odor I thought was completely normal.

Had to drive a half hour away to get a new trailer, another half hour cleaning that one. Luckily they accept it and I delivered that load today.

Had a Copps load preplan that picked up in Davenport. Drove about 25 miles toward it and pulled into my fuel solution. Get a beep, says "VOID MESSAGE" followed by my load number and "01 WAS VOIDED."

I was like WTF is this? Sent a message to the dispatcher. Half hour later I get a new preplan. It's. D/H about 20 miles away that delivers in Chicago, a whopping 100 mile trip. Did that, show up at receiver (the place on Ferdinand). Guy tells me I'm a D/H and to wait for this other truck to pull off. An hour later I'm in the dock. Go in to get my paperwork signed, another person hands me new bills. I'm like WTF? I was supposed to get an empty. I didn't know this place doesn't keep empties. So here I am, two hours into it, in the wrong dock because they thought I was a D/H and I didn't know any better. They tell me I'll be another hour, which will make me late for my next load. Still haven't heard back from my dispatcher whether I'll still be able to get it.

The load here is going to Neenah. I don't see why I can't just take it.

On top of that, why the hell can't they tell us in he preplan whether or not a load is a drop and hook? Seems ridiculous that they don't.

Also, does anyone know what that "voided load" ######## is about? Like, how did that happen?

2.5 hours after getting there, dispatcher cancels my former preplan and gives me the Neenah load. I could have delivered it today, instead I'm parked in Oak Creek Wisconsin until the morning. Been a rough week.

My preplan for tomorrow is a broker load that picks up at the Waupaca Foundry and delivers in Benton Harbor MI. I can't think of a reason she'd give me a broker load from this particular region of Wisconsin where we have tons of business, to Michigan, if she wasn't planning on sending me home. That would mean this week was less than 2000 miles, and I never asked to go home.

Weeks with less than 2000 miles are unexceptable, even going home on weekends.

I'm at the yard getting my safety meeting in tomorrow morning.

Couldn't drop trailer there either, it HAD to be a drop and hook. I wanted to throttle this lady, this is the first customer that I've dealt with that really rubbed me the wrong way, and it takes a lot to do that. It made me feel better that I wasn't the only one there who had the same feeling. It only took them 3.5 hours to get me unloaded, even after I told them it was supposed to be a drop and hook and I had only an hour left. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's incompetence. To top it off, all the streets in the industrial park had no parking signs everywhere. I ended up parking at a rest area 15 minutes away in Minooka.

Picked up scrap today at 48th place, they don't have enough construction going on right where we have to turn either. Took it up to Neenah, dropped and now I'm here at the yard. Slow week thus far.

Wow rough week for us all and its only Wednesday!

Question, I've never ran on recap and its time I learned. An experienced driver told me I really don't need a reset. I have 39min left on my 70 right now. I get back 6:29hrs at midnight, and 6:26hrs back Friday midnight.

Can I really run with that? I guess I run most times 9-11hr days and thought of 6 hrs for the day makes me worry about not being able to deliver anything. Lol

Am I being paranoid for nothing? Just need to learn how to run to make more miles.

You all are not alone ive had the week from hell too. Got most of my frustrations out on my current trailer today. A little quality time with a sledge hammer helps. #### tandems
