Chicago Volvo mechanic

    I am wanting to purchase a 780 Volvo here in Chicago and wondering if anyone can recommend a mechanic in the area to check it out first? Volvo 780, D12, 13 speed, 540,000 miles. The dealer works on it before the sale, but need someone impartial to check it over and I plan on a dyno, too. But, the dyno place works closely with the dealer, so again, want someone impartial. Thanks for any input...this would be in the SW Burbs, near Bolingbrook where the truck is.

    I think that's where the dealer sends it for the dyno. Did you find a truck you like?

    I found a few 670's with a workstation bunk. I also found a nice Pete 386 with the 70" sleeper. The Pete is near my home and I wouldnt have to come to Chicago.
    Not too sure I want a CAT engine. The 670's have the Cummins and 13 speed.

    I'm still waiting for mine to get to the dealer! They're putting it on the drive-away company...I don't know. Might be after the 4th when I finally get going at this rate, as they said it takes a while to detail and go over everything.
