Well I just threw those out there because he said studio equipment, we've hauled some of that which wasn't just dump in a crate and move stuff. Thanks for the other suggestions.

I used Uship twice, once for something I bought on eBay and another time for a bulldozer. For the eBay item the auction house recommended them. I paid a pair price I guess, but it was the lowest bidder so I got what I paid for. Load showed up on a goosneck, on time but damaged, insurance, what insurance? The driver's equipment was beat. Truck was falling apart, trailer had it's best years 20 years ago. It was a quite a few years ago and I used them out of ignorance. The Dozer came on a big rig with no problems.
What does the average non-trucker type know about shipping, the DOT, or any regulations? Nothing! At least I didn't. Hell, it's tough enough to figure out when you're trying to learn. If you search for shipping, Uship pops up at the top. Seems like Uship ought to police who can accept bids, or at least have some responsibility and liability. It's probably gonna take a horrific accident and a crafty lawyer to make that happen.
I know I wouldn't use them again as a shipper (for something small), so I can't imagine bidding on a load to haul.
I guess I should get more current because I've never seen 'Shipping Wars.' -
