On top of that, why the hell can't they tell us in he preplan whether or not a load is a drop and hook? Seems ridiculous that they don't.
Agreed.
We send are dispatch a free form if we are in question about weather its a D/H or live unload/load . .
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

I know my dispatcher does because we just talked about it when deciding which of the two loads he was going to put on me. Taking a load over to Sheboygan from the yard, delivers at 2100 tonight. Then tomorrow I'll head over to Beaver Dam to load going to Fontana for Monday morning. I'll be down on hours when I get there so I'll get a reset out there.
Got my safety meeting in, got fitted for a jacket that was apparently supposed to happen in December for 1 year of safe driving. Had about 5 different styles to choose from.
Had my meeting with the big guy, went well. They are going to make a call to pick up freight lanes they used to run, basically running a triangle from AZ-NW-SoCal-AZ with the occasional run to the Midwest. I told him it's not me you have to convince. It's her. We will see how things shake out. -
Must be nice to "talk" about what you end up with! Nice to know they want to work with you instead of you switching companies.
Speaking of safe driving, do we have to wait a year before we get safety bonus? Or do we qualify for it the our 1st full quarter? -
You have to have the full year, you'll get the bonus at the end of the fourth quarter and each quarter of safe driving following that.
It is nice to discuss certain loads, but I've been on the list to get out west for over a week now. The other load going out that way wouldn't have been able to get me any time off. -
The relationship Weeble has with his dispatcher is unique, it seems.
I'm happy to report I've finally had a day that didn't go terribly this week, though I worked my ### off.Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
My dispatcher looks at my hours. She seems to be proficient in how long it takes to get from one place to another and is always on top of when I need a reset.
-
Everybody I talk to who has my dispatcher says they wouldn't have anyone else. I don't know how the others relate with him, but I know the meeting we had when I first started, he said I'm real flexible as long as you are. Had to build trust with him to get those west coast runs on a consistent basis. I know when I have Dale when he goes on vacation, it's a completely different system. I run my butt off and all communication is done strictly through the Qualcomm and there are no ifs ands or buts about where I'm going.

Got a load going to Augusta Maine, which will the furthest east I've ever been. Anything I should know about the trip? Parking looks like me scarce in that area of Maine and I'll need a reset somewhere out there.
Also, I heard something about a "safety" inbound and outbound pay of $100 and $75 regarding Maine. What's that about? -
Safety loads are water loads on the weekend where you are on call. Whether you get a load or not, you get paid that money.
There is an Irving in Richmond on 295 exit 43 and a Circle K exit 75 on 95 in Auburn. It's the same exit as Poland Spring. That will probably be your best bet, not far from Augusta. Maybe a half hour.Timecook Thanks this. -
Cool, thanks.
