first concern on hot days outside im hitting 210-215* as i top some steep grades when loaded to gross. when ambint temps outside are cooler there is no issue. high temp alarm buzzer goes off. are the temp gauges and buzzer on the same sensor or different sensors . when i pop the hood the engine doesn't seem quite that hot. plan to try to get a lazer thermo to check with. if it is acually running that hot what would be the first steps in diagnosing i have already cleaned all the bugs and dirt out of the outside of the radiator other than that everything seems normal and no coolant loss
second concern is. i think i may be gaining oil. however im not sure if i am or not. ill check it one day and it may be a touch below the full mark the next day it might be right at the full mark then the next day it might be a touch below the full mark again. been like this for about 5k miles dont think i have ever noticed any oil burn in the past but the varrying oil levals raises some concern to me. its not much but does concern me that no oil lost over 5k miles and probably a 1/4 inch variance up and down from day to day. and its not nessisarly up one day down the next it might be at one spot for a couple days then at the other for a couple days. oil pressures have been normal.
the truck seems to run normal no misses or shudders or other drivability issues. normal boost pressures (no pyro) coolent temps on get hot, on hot days on long hard pulls where your down to about 35-40mph for multiple miles
I got a couple more weeks to go before the first check comes in so hopefully no need for immediate concern. will have a oil sample pulled when i do my next oil change here soon
got some concerns 95 d-60 fld120

the sensor for the coolant might need replacing.it could make the lights/buzzer go off when nothing is really wrong.the connector may get rust in it or it could just be old.
-
I second that

well i did get a lazer thermometer today. temp gauge seems to be pretty darn close to what im getting with the lazer thermo. didn't get hot today but it was a cooler day today. when i checked it with the thermo. i had just pulled off the highway got about 195 on the inlet hose into the radiator and about 118 on the outlet from the radiator. ambient temp was about 70-75* and engine fan was on
on the oil thing we were down the first part of the day today because of heavy rains last night so i tried to find a shop to pull a oil sample for me but no one had time to do it.
one thing occoured to me today on that subject though. it could be posible that my truck leaning one way or another on uneven parking spaces may be causing my varying oil level. -
got it up to 205 on a hard pull today and pulled over and checked the outlet temp on the radiator and it was 178 degrees where the water was returning to the engin from the radiator. this is at high idle with the engine fan on moments after pulling off the road.
im guessing im looking at a new radiator soon. whats your opinions? -
I would wash everything up front out real good before making a decision.
Do you know how old the radiator is? -
the outside of the radiator is clean. nothing to block airflow.
-
take off air to air clean between it and radiator you be suprised how much stuff gets caught in therealways clean out forward wash towards front of truck

Cleaning is good advise you need to do that first. I have had several trucks with overheating problems and although they seemed to overheat all a sudden the core was most likely plugging up over time and when summer comes it creates a problem.
