+1 I would much rather deal with crazies and criminals as citizens than have them lord over me ( or "protect" me) as rulers.

No I was 100% assuming as the Houston area crime rate increased dramatically after they bussed the fine citizens of NOLA over and left them there, just like every other area that accepted them. Having lived in Gretna LA for a time, I most definitely have an opinion based on actual experience with said citizens.

I went back and read the entire thread again, thinking I missed it and the article.
Baytown itself along with Houston have had their share of violence. No different than any other large city. We do not even have a stop light in my town.
As far as New Orleans and Gretna, I agree. I spent many vacations down there over the years. -
If you want to be nit picky, my post said the most likely Katrina refugee, which on face value is an assumption.
When I roll across the West Bank expressway I am thankful that I only lived there a year. -
I do not doubt it. I never really liked the area much, but my wife did.
