Yeah, pattyj brings up a really good point. Get everything out there. You're being really honest here it seems, but if you haven't heard before, I'll tell you what I've heard on here countless times: Don't lie! Before they officially hire you, they will do the background check.
Don't take offense, just warning anyone that reads this, lol.

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know I contacted a recruiter. She told e my that those offenses arent a big deal and she would be willing to hire me right out of truck school if my license hadn't been suspended. She said no suspensions in three years. I got more info on the bottom companies like swift. They require no suspensions for the past year which means as soOn as I get this taken care of I only have to wait a year. I can do that. I messed up and this is my punishment but one year is so much better than waiting 3-5.
Hmmm....now what to do with my next year... -
A yr will fly by.

Check out how long the school you plan to go to takes to finish. I'm sure you'll want to get it done ASAP, but don't go applying next week. You want to finish school, then be able to work right away, or they'll be weary about hiring you, think you're "rusty".

oh you made me happier. I'll consider once I start school to be the start of my cater...so...10 months to go

Career not cater.

50 in a 40. Hey I learned my lesson though. Never go 1 mile over now. But keep in mind it was also a driving without a license(mine was revoked because of the check, I had no idea) and driving with no insurance.
Kinda down right now because I really can see myself enjoying trucking.
Gnnt, I wouldn't worry about it. Just be sure to disclose to anybody you apply to. In the world of commercial driving, those citations are pretty innocent. No dead bodies, no customs, no 95 in a 45, it's really incredible what drivers can get into. Really incredible. Besides, your citations weren't on a CDL, right? So, no CSA points yet, and transportation industry companies should be mostly more concerned with commercial driving violations. Nobody is going to fault you very much for being dumb...too many dumber drivers out there.
BTW, I came back into the world of CDL driving a year and a half ago, drove in the '80's (way more fun) but when I washed out with Conway Truckload after the Agility Test I went with Swift out of Albuquerque. They were fair with me, cheap, but fair. I tried CTL again and got on last spring, much better company, much more pay. Much more pay. If you can get on with Conway, you'll be glad you did. PM me for a contact if you like. J
gnnt12345 Thanks this. -
The violation date doesn't matter, it's the conviction date for the citation that counts. When was the conviction date? I really don't see a problem getting hired. I was in a similar situation recently. Got a speeding ticket in Los Angeles in my 4 wheeler. Never got an invoice in the mail and completely forgot I got the ticket until I got a notice from the DMV informing me that my license was suspended. I paid the fine, reinstatement fee and all was good. Good luck to you!

Uh oh.
As I said I never went to court. The violation was out of town. I'm planning on going next week to go to court. Does this mean I'll have to wait longer than a year? -
You should be ok. After the three years go by the points and ticket come off of your license. The monetary fines and fees should have no effect on you getting hired to drive over the road. This issue will be how much its going to cost to have your license reinstated. I have had my license suspended a few times for insurance lapse and such and it has never effected my CDL. The trucking companies are concerned with points and moving violations because if their insurance companies won't cover you or if it cost more to cover you then the trucking company won't want to hire you.
From what I understand of your post though you should be fine.
If you are planning on becoming a professional driver you need to keep up on your license. That will be your "bread and butter".
