Teamsters never liked the restart. They always did the recap regardless per a member who was on here and a mod for very short time.
What are supposed to be the benefits of the new HOS? I see none

At my employer, we don't even come close to busting out the 70s. If you actually treat the industry like a 9-5 and run multiple shifts to only keep drivers 8 hours at a time, you feel much better driving every day. -
They almost all get 48 hours off on the weekend and the hours through the week are not enough to burn a 70. I stated they used the recap which means they were not opting for the 34.Ghost Ryder Thanks this. -
If you really think lots of drivers are working for "slave labor" wages, then ask yourself, why do they continue to do it? Evidently they are being paid a sufficient amount to keep them doing the job. Now, let's make it a little more difficult for that same driver to accomplish his duties. Let's have him constantly thinking about what his logbook looks like and wonder whether he is in violation or not. Let's totally ignore the fact that truck crashes are less and less every year. **This I might add here, why hasn't anyone measured truck related crashes per say, 1,000,000 miles? Example - in 2008 when it all crashed, take half the trucks off the road and the number of crashes goes down also by half - how would that make sense?**The Breeze Thanks this. -
A truck stop would be such a nice place for the coast to coast drivers if they operated 8 out of 24 hours. What an improvement that would be.The Breeze Thanks this. -
