I'm not sure. I never went to court either but they listed my conviction date as the same day my license was suspended. Might be different where you live. Pull a copy of your MVR and see if it lists a conviction date.

I will do that.
I have to say when I first posted this thread I expected to hear,"well you should have taken care of your business sooner"
Instead I've received nothing but very informative and compassionate replies. You guys are good people.
Thanks. -
I've seen other threads like this where the OP will get all pissy as soon as someone tells them anything negative. You seem like a bright enough guy tho, make sure you do what you need to ASAP. Call up some companies and ask them what they think you should do to be hired on, not just Swift. Different companies have different policies.
Also, from your last couple posts, I'm confused about your regular license. Do you have it now? I don't know exactly how it works, but I mentioned before, the length of time you've had an unsuspended license is important. That may actually be a bigger deal than the speeding, which is common (they only get real upset if you're speeding in residential/school zones).gnnt12345 Thanks this. -
I agree with Chase. The speeding ticket isn't going to be a big deal. The suspension is a bigger deal but once it has been valid for a year you'll get hired.

even if you have to wait a couple of more years
if it is what you want to do
many people don't even start trucking until later in life
I just came back after being out 20 years
58 when I started again -
I've thought about it since I was 18. It wasn't until I started living in my car that I realized it could be an enjoyable career. I'm a secluded person and love driving. I would love to see our country. For me the most enjoyable part of a road trip is being on the road.
And yeah. You're right. Even if I have to wait 3 years that's alright. I can't think of any other career choice where I could experience that kind of freedom. -
You have a great attitude,I think any company would be more then happy to have you on board. Why don't you keep looking.Every company has different requirements.
gnnt12345 Thanks this. -
Just keep your chin up...like everyone is saying...jut be open and honest every co you apply to...honesty goes along way & more than likely you'll find a company to take you on...

Maybe after you research and figure out which company is a fit for you, try to get a job with them working in the warehouse, loading dock, etc. It would give you a better understanding about the industry and how it works. Just a suggestion.
It would get you in the door and they would have a better understanding about you as an employee as well.gnnt12345 Thanks this. -
Carry your MVRwith you and dress nice and set down and talk, many will look past these smallthings and sometimes giving a guy a chance, he then will make a better employee
