I had a union job once. Thought I'd died and went to Satan's house.

Yes, it's the persons choice. What they do not understand is how they are destroying the industry. Drivers like that are the reason why you have to work 70+ hours a week to make 30k.

Whatever you say bud. I will be interested in what happens to the competition for your cush job when nobody wants to do OTR anymore. With some people's thinking on here, the next driver that comes along and will work for $1 per hour less will obviously get the job ...

An electronic logbook does not equal 30k per year in 70+ hour weeks (which will be illegal next week) - that's a benefit of working for scumbag low-lifes that treat drivers like slaves. They'd do that if they were running paper logs. At least with elogs it's harder to crack the whip on the galley slaves.

If there's a silver lining it's this, teams will become a premium commodity that are sought after....

BTW, my comment had nothing to do with Teamsters or unions, just me drifting into the possible benefits to me and what I do......

The 30 min break really the isnt deal. What about you got to have two different periods of off duty or sleeper beth.

With consecutive hrs between 0100 & 0500 hrs showing, To even have a 34hr reset.

Anne ferro came up with these hrs. Saying "this in so many words" when the human boby wants to sleep, the most dangerous time to drive....What...for who......her.....maybe..

This is why we dont need some one who has no idea of what we do or why we do it.

This is what we do. As trucker we (should) understand our job isnt always a day job.

And prepare our self for such runs.If your dispatcher also understands, lets you know in time to do so. I seen some act like they just found out about it. Which is a different topic.

We as drivers understand thier is no set routine by the clock.

we dont get up at 430 am shower, breakfast than drive to work by 7am break at 9,lunch at 12 off at 330 pm. drive to pick up johnny at 415 pm. supper by 7pm bed by 10pm than al over again.

Sometime we eat breakfest at 11pm. Than time when we eat supper at 12noon. finished for the day at 7am.

Thier is no benfits to this rule. Its stupid(only word that comes to mind). When we driver east to west alone. Upsets the hos balance of day to night driving. If you drive it enough back 7 forth. Same as jet lag, the red eye.

Lets say you finished at 7am with no sleeper/off duty time in consecutive hrs of 1 to 5am.with in your 70hrs.

Now you got to reset 70/60. You start at 7am your 34hour mark is at 4pm the next day.(right).

Cant go no where haven't reset. Need two off/sleeper time between 1 & 5am. Now got to wait for 5am the next to day to roll. total of 46hrs of down time.

This is how i came up with the word stupid.

Someone mentioned a rolling reset for teams, I just can't picture that. At this point, I'm with the ones who would throw HOS overboard in a burlap sack weighted with rocks.

As for benefits of the new rules, there are none that I can see.
