I worked for Hays the sister company of Henderson. The same guy owns them and they have the same dispatchers. They do pull van also not just reefer. My personal experience with them was hell. There is a lady there named Mindy and she has the power. Every load has to do with Mindy. Everyone is scared of her. They LOVE to run you illegal. If your late with a load you get charged $25 and you hear the dispatchers saying dont be late with Mindy's load or else. There was plenty of miles they do alot of CA. I would stay away from them though unless you like someone on your rear all the time.

Hey Pitbull, I appreciate the info. Does Hays go to California too. The recruiter told me I could run regional or long haul, does regional mean Hays? Sorry you had a bad experience, how long were you there? Thanks
-
Yes hays goes to CA also. There regional is a joke. You might go to OH to pu a load thats going to CA and they suddenly say you need to take it because theres no other drivers. I was there for about 5 months

Thanks again Pitbull. I talked with my recruiter today and she assured me that I would be working for Henderson and not Hays. I wasn't sure because their website shows their regional as being Hays. I really like the fact that their average trip is 1500 miles for OTR. I have heard from some other people that if you want to run you can make great money. Any body got any first hand knowedge on Henderson?

hey bobobrazil,
I have worked for EL Henderson for just over 10 years and don't plan to leave them any time soon. Not willing to say they are perfect but I have worked for a lot worse companies over my 17 years on the road. What I do like is the length of haul. You can usually depend on going to the west coast every trip. Even the solos. I have only had to go out east four times over 10 years. Not bad in my opinion. We do go to Fl. and Ga. off of the west coast some but I kinda like that myself. Anyway. Good luck with whatever you choose and give a holler to the big maroon HT truck, it may be me. [Rock Bottom] -

I worked for them in the late 90's till forced to retire with the Death cvall of drivers aka Epilepsy. Trust me I ever get my brain fixed to were they stop and get my CDL back I would be back there in a freaking second. Miles hell I had them coming out of my ears. 3700 a week or BETTER was normal benes were great managers all knew what it meant to drive a truck. I was single could take my time off anyplace I wanted to and did. When I went there I told my first FM I like to run first week out of the box I got 4200 miles Paid next week hit 3400 then settled into a nice 3500 mile run a week on their regional haul at the time. Then went long haul and look out never had a week of less than 3600-3700 unless I was off or had a breakdown and that was rare.

can anybody tell me anything about hendersons lease program?is it any good?i know they have the miles, but do they kkep you busy or just enough to pay the note?
-
I was told by a few fellow truckers, the guy that leases the trucks will lie to you & tell you how good the $$$$ is to be made & when it comes down to it you won't make anything & be lucky to break even. Many go out for a week or two & turn the truck back in. Things are going to also slow down very soon for a couple of months till Califorina gets going again so there will be a lot of sitting time for a lot of the people that drive for them. They have brand new trucks & keep hiring drivers cause they lose about 10 a week cause of lies & they will keep you sitting for $25.00 a day & don't care how long you sit, had a friend that sat for 3 days his first trip out. Also keep a eye on your pay if you go to work for them they will short you on about every load & better get use to driving every trip a 100 to 150 miles for free. Good Luck if you go to work for them.
lipweed805 and JewelsnTools Thank this.
